Every Vélobsessive is a custom-built bike — designed around your body, assembled by hand in our workshop in Neerach, Switzerland.
Not adapted from a stock model. Not mass-produced.
Built from the first component to the last specifically for you, starting with a professional bike fitting that defines every measurement of your build.
Whether you ride road, gravel or triathlon — this is where your bike begins.
Every bike sold in a shop is designed for an imaginary average body. Yours isn't average. A Vélobsessive is built around your exact measurements — which changes how the bike rides, how long you can stay on it, and how fast you go.
When your saddle height, crank length and handlebar position match your anatomy exactly, your joints work in their optimal range of motion throughout every pedal stroke. A custom bike eliminates the micro-adjustments your body makes when it's fighting a poor fit, and those micro-adjustments are what causes chronic knee, back and neck issues in cyclists.
Every Vélobsessive starts with a professional bike fitting where your sit bone width, inseam, torso length, shoulder width and foot alignment are measured precisely. From those numbers, the correct frame size, crank length, handlebar width and stem configuration are calculated — not estimated, not approximated. The bike is then assembled to those exact specifications.
A bike that fits you correctly is aerodynamically more efficient because your body holds its position without muscular effort. You're not fighting the bike to stay low — you simply are low, naturally. Combined with your choice of wheelset profile and groupset, the result is a bike that is objectively faster than any stock model at the same price point, because it was built for one specific rider: you.

What is included when I buy a custom bike from Vélobsessive?
Every Vélobsessive bike includes a professional Dynamic Bike Fitting worth CHF 320. Your position is defined before a single component is ordered, and the bike is hand-assembled in our studio in Neerach, Zürich to match your exact measurements.
How long does it take to build a custom bike?
The process typically takes 3 to 6 weeks from the fitting session to delivery, depending on component availability. Thomas will keep you informed at every step.
Do I need to come to Neerach to buy a custom bike?
Yes — the bike fitting session takes place in our studio in Neerach, near Bülach, Canton Zürich. This is essential because the bike is built to your exact measurements. You can book a free test ride first if you'd like to visit before committing.
Can I configure the components of my custom bike?
Yes. Every Vélobsessive is configurable — you choose your wheelset (4 options), groupset (Shimano Ultegra Di2, Dura-Ace Di2, SRAM Force or SRAM Red), and optional Garmin add-ons. Thomas will advise on the best configuration for your riding style and goals, contact Thomas here
What is the difference between a custom bike and a standard road bike?
A standard bike is designed for an average body that doesn't exist. A custom Vélobsessive is built around your exact position — defined in a professional bike fitting — which means correct crank length, right handlebar width, and precise saddle position from the very first ride.
Is it possible to buy a Vélobsessive bike without a bike fitting?
We always recommend getting a bike fitting before purchasing your bike. If it's not possible for you to come to Neerach for a bike fitting, you can also have one done near your place of residence. The bike fitter will then send us your fitting data, and we will build your custom-made road bike based on those measurements.
